Kim Kardashian Tearfully Recalls 2016 Paris Robbery in Emotional Court Testimony

Reality TV star Kim Kardashian delivered emotional testimony in a Paris courtroom on May 13, recounting the terrifying moments of the 2016 armed robbery that left her fearing for her life.

Testifying behind closed doors due to courtroom restrictions on cameras and live broadcasts, Kardashian described the night she was robbed at gunpoint in her hotel room by a gang of armed intruders who stole millions of dollars in jewelry.

"I absolutely thought I was going to die," she said through tears. "I thought about my sister—I thought she would walk in and see me shot dead, and be left with that memory forever."

Kardashian, dressed in a black suit and wearing eye-catching jewelry, arrived at the Assize Court in a black van just minutes before her testimony, accompanied by her mother, Kris Jenner. Her sister, Kourtney Kardashian, had been traveling with her in Paris at the time of the heist but was not present at the hotel during the robbery.

Investigators allege the suspects tied Kardashian up with zip ties and duct tape before stealing several high-value items, including a $4 million engagement ring given to her by her then-husband, rapper Ye (formerly known as Kanye West).

The high-profile case continues to draw international attention as the trial unfolds in Paris.

“I came to Paris for Fashion Week, to a city I had always adored,” Kardashian recalled, her voice filled with emotion.Kim Kardashian offered harrowing testimony in a Paris courtroom on May 13, vividly recalling the night she was robbed at gunpoint during Fashion Week in 2016.

“We were leaving the next morning, so I was just packing up—it was around 3 a.m.,” she told the court. “I was in bed when I suddenly heard heavy footsteps stomping up the stairs.”

Moments later, several men entered her bedroom, dressed as police officers. “I thought they were police at first because they were wearing uniforms,” she said.

Then, one of the intruders demanded her engagement ring. “He shouted ‘Ring! Ring!’ in English, but with an accent, pointing at me,” she recalled.

Visibly emotional, Kardashian described pleading with the hotel concierge who was being held hostage nearby. “I was hysterical. I looked at him and said, ‘What is going to happen to us? I have to make it home to my babies.’”

At one point, Kardashian feared the attack was about to escalate into sexual violence. She recounted how one of the robbers threw her onto the bed and grabbed her leg. “I thought I was going to be raped,” she said. “But instead, he tied me up and closed my legs.”

Her longtime stylist, Simone Harouche, also testified, describing the “terror” they both felt that night. Harouche had been asleep downstairs in the same duplex suite when the robbery began.

“I heard her say, ‘I have babies, and I have to live. Take everything—I need to live,’” Harouche recalled.

Realizing the severity of the situation, Harouche locked herself in a bathroom and texted Kardashian’s sister Kourtney and their bodyguard for help.

Kardashian arrived at the Assize Court in Paris dressed in a black suit and flanked by her mother, Kris Jenner. The courtroom, closed to cameras and live media, remained solemn as the reality star relived one of the most traumatic experiences of her life.

Harrowing Aftermath: Kardashian and Witness Describe Trauma of Paris Robbery

After the armed robbers fled the scene, Kim Kardashian rushed downstairs to reunite with her stylist, Simone Harouche, who had hidden in a bathroom during the ordeal.

“She was beside herself—I had never seen her like that before,” Harouche told the court. “She was screaming, panicked, saying, ‘We need to get out of here. We need help. What are we going to do if they come back?’”

Kris Jenner, Kardashian’s mother, was present at the Assize Court in Paris on May 13 as the emotional testimony continued.

Harouche, who broke down in tears during parts of her own testimony, revealed that the robbery had a lasting impact on her mental health and career. She told the court she was diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder, had undergone therapy, and ultimately left her job in the fashion industry, saying the experience left her fearful of working with celebrities.

Ten people—nine men and one woman—are on trial in connection with the high-profile heist. Five of the male defendants face the most serious charges, including armed robbery and kidnapping, and could be sentenced to life in prison. The remaining suspects are accused of either assisting in the robbery or possessing unauthorized weapons.

As the thieves fled the scene—some on foot, others on bicycles—they dropped part of their haul. A passerby later found a diamond-studded cross in the street and turned it over to police. However, the majority of the stolen jewelry, including Kardashian’s $4 million engagement ring, has never been recovered.
